Crystal Hu is a filmmaker, composer, writer, and visual artist from Boston. Her work is distinguished by a highly personal aesthetic and an auteurial approach to artistic practice. Across different mediums, Hu is drawn to atmosphere, ambiguity, and emotion, creating space for interpretation and reflection.. At the core of her work is an exploration of human experience and emotional truth - particularly the moments, feelings, and meanings that exist before, beyond, or without language.

Hu holds an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.S. in Journalism with a Documentary Specialization from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and is a Phi Beta Kappa member.
